Jonny Nelson (born 27 December 1988) is a British television and radio presenter. He is best known for hosting Saturday Mash-Up! [1] on CBBC and BBC2.

Early life and education

Jonny was born in Blackpool, Lancashire. He was educated at St Wilfrid's Church of England Academy in Blackburn, before studying journalism at the University of Central Lancashire [2] in Preston.

He is a lifelong fan of Preston North End F.C.[3]

Career

In 2014 and 2015, Jonny presented for Capital North West and Wales.

In 2015 he joined ITN, presenting on FYI Daily on ITV2 and Access (UK TV show) on Channel 5 (UK).

In 2016, he reported for Premier League TV 'Kick Off', made by IMG (company) and presented on children's football show Nick Kicks on Nickelodeon.

In 2017, he was chosen by CBBC to present new Saturday morning children's magazine entertainment programme Saturday Mash-Up! with Yasmin Evans and Hacker T. Dog [4]

In 2018, Jonny appeared alongside Iain Stirling and Ben Shires on Sam & Mark's Big Friday Wind-Up.[5]

He is currently presenting The Football Show [6] on Sky Sports with Layla Anna-Lee and series 2 of Saturday Mash-Up! on CBBC.
