Sam Felman (born January 23, 1989) is an American film director, production designer, writer and actor based in Los Angeles. He is currently best known for his production design work on the 2022 Backstreet Boys music video for the song Christmas in New York from their holiday album A Very Backstreet Christmas.
Early life and education
Felman was born in Pasadena, California. He studied screenwriting at California State University, Northridge where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree[1].
Film and television
Sam Felman began his career as a photo double for Jesse Eisenberg in the 2009 zombie comedy Zombieland,[2][failed verification] and later worked as a photo double for T. J. Thyne as Dr. Jack Hodgins in one episode of the TV series Bones.[3][failed verification]
Later, Felman appeared as a Stark Expo attendee in the 2010 Marvel superhero film Iron Man 2, and as a featured student on the first season of Community starring Joel McHale.[citation needed]
In 2012 Felman wrote, directed and hosted a documentary short film featuring Holocaust survivor Hava Bromberg Ben-Zvi, author of "The Bride Who Argued with God"[4][failed verification][5][failed verification] for the Echoes of Truth Holocaust memorial project. Felman was recognized by the California State Assembly for his contribution to the project,[citation needed] and the documentary is preserved in the US National Archives.[citation needed]
Felman directed the short films Fifty-Five[6] (2018), Strangers[7] (2018) and Choice[8] (2021).
In 2022 Felman production-designed the Backstreet Boys music video for the song Christmas in New York from their holiday album A Very Backstreet Christmas[9]
