MITC (Media Industry Technologist Certification)

MITC certification is a media industry certification to provide guidance to the suitability of an individual to work in a certain domain of the media industry. The generation of the MITC Certification came from a growing need from within the Australian Television Broadcasting Industry to generate a learning culture within the workplace. The challenge was taken up by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) to formulate such a certification program.

The complete syllabus for the certification is still being established by the MITC Committee prior to the soft launch in mid 2007. A pilot examination was held at the end of 2006.

The MITC certification is providing some valuable feedback to Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)in Australia to help target areas of competency required to fulfil practical roles in the Australian Television, Radio and Media industries.Birdt 05:24, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
