The Kingdom of Albion is a collection of Isles situated in the Norse Sea on the world of Pangaea (equivalent to Earth). It has been a major power in world affairs for many years although its significance has begun to fade with many people and jobs being lost to the emergent Nubian Republic (equivalent to Africa). It is the birthplace of TechGnosis and the central hub of the Britomart corporation.
History
Time line A Great year (also known as a Platonic year or Equinoctial cycle) is the time required for one complete cycle of the precession of the equinoxes, about 25800 years. Most ancient cultures believed that during the course of one Great Year civilization will rise for about 12,000 years, culminating in a Golden Age, then fall for 12,000 years, culminating in a Dark Age, before rising again. Thus a Great Year is thought to be a cyclical measurement of time with periods of waxing and waning light and darkness similar to the earth's daily and yearly periods of time.
Evolution I All that differentiates modern man from primates occurred when early hominids brains became stimulated through consumption of psychotropic plants, such as mushrooms. Justification by the britomart corporation for the evolutionary benefits of patch tech.
The long days Age of the God Kings - the legendary Island civilizations of Avalon (equivalent to Atlantis) and Lumeria (equivalent to Lemuria).
Age of The tiller of Soil The Vegetarian stage of honest non violent humanity. Peaceful and enlightened, beautiful and powerful.
Death of The 4th Sun End of the 4th Great Year resulting in 'death by water'. The Deluge. Much of the population is wiped out and great civilizations are lost.
Age of The Butcher of Cattle The carnivorous stage of corruption, war and slavery. The children of Cain.
Neo-platonic proto-magicians of classical antiquity. They hold fragments of the long days. Yet as time goes on and man's memory fades the secret societies that hold this knowledge, become divided geographically and culturally, becoming fiercely protective of their scraps of knowledge. - Aggressive sects of power emerge.
Emergence of People of the Book Monotheistic sun god worshipers rise to power in the control the masses by denying them the path to knowledge and self discovery. They made the truth "We shall be as gods." blasphemy. And plunged the world into darkness and ignorance, denying the view of man as pluriforms of god, divine emanations who have forgotten their power.
There is resistance of course and enlightened men come and go, yet none are capable of unlocking the power of the pre deluvian island dwellers of Avalon. They strain too hard.
