Alexandra Bard was born in Sydney, Australia to Kaye Neilson and Paul Bard. Her father Paul Bard, is of Russian decent. She is the granddaughter of the renowned Russian musician, medical doctor and archaeologist Solomon Bard, best known for establishing the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

At the age of four Alexandra began acting when she was cast in a national commercial for Nutella. Throughout her childhood she worked consistently in Australian commercials.

Alexandra got her first break in US television at the age of fifteen when she was cast as one of Natalie Wood's adolescent friends in Peter Bogdanovich's production of The Mystery of Natalie Wood. Alexandra was chosen for the part due to her 23 inch waist which was essential for the time-period costumes.

Alexandra has a vast theatrical training extending over a decade. Her admirable dedication to studying the craft of acting has led Alexandra to pursue training with world famous acting coaches. In support of her passion, at age ten Alexandra's parents enrolled her at the The Australian Theatre for Young People (alumni include: Rose Byrne, Baz Luhrmann, Toni Collette). Upon reaching her adolescence she commenced training at NIDA (former graduates include: Cate Blanchett, Mel Gibson, Hugo Weaving) where she undertook numerous courses for several years. Since then Alexandra has studied privately with Ivana Chubbuck (Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Carey), Stephen Bridgewater (on set acting coach for Walk The Line, Sicario, Brokeback Mountain, Traffice and The Fisher King) and William Esper (Sam Rockwell, Amy Schumer, Larry David, Kathy Bates and Kim Basinger).

Alexandra has starred as the lead actress in two films directed and produced by award winning filmmaker, Pearry Teo. She is best known for her work on the feature film Strange Blood and her award winning performance as Julia Perryman in the soon to be released feature film, The Meanest Man in Texas, based on the best-selling book of the same title about Clyde Thompson.
