Hello!
I suggest to add also the total number of Wikipedias to the header, and in an additional column or below the number of articles, the count of the Wikipedias to the right of it. For instance, in the group of 4,000,000 articles, the only Wikipedia currently is the English one (1).--Sae1962 (talk) 10:04, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-11-19T10:04:00.000Z","author":"Sae1962","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Sae1962-2014-11-19T10:04:00.000Z-Please_add_also_the_number_of_Wikipedias","replies":[]}}-->

Wikipedias in swedish and cebuano have recently reached +3.000.000 articles: can we make a new group? --Holapaco77 (talk) 22:32, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2016-11-25T22:32:00.000Z","author":"Holapaco77","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Holapaco77-2016-11-25T22:32:00.000Z-+3_million_group","replies":["c-TompaDompa-2016-11-27T17:16:00.000Z-Holapaco77-2016-11-25T22:32:00.000Z"]}}-->

Considering that both Swedish and Cebuano counts are highly inflated by an automated bot (Lsjbot) run by one guy, it's surprising that they're listed as high as they are now... Waray and Volapük suffer from similar problems. I've added back the six million which was removed after my last posting. If both entries in the section have six million articles then the section name should be 6 million instead of 5 million, per commonsense and accuracy. What is it about a 5-2-1 pattern that is important, am I missing something? Keeping that pattern would mean that the "million" wouldn't change until one of the two gets to 10 million, which may not happen for another 15 or 20-25 years (imagine, until then they'd still be listed as 5 million even if they have 9 million articles). When counting in the millions-of-articles it seems that each new level should receive its own grouping. Not understanding the logic here. Thanks. It was removed again and in good faith reverted back to 5 million per a 5-2-1 progression. Please discuss why that is better, I'm not understanding the logic of it. I'll wait a couple of days to see if this is addressed here before putting back the 6, thanks. The way the template has been structured – arranging entries into 11 or 12 groups based on the number of articles in that language edition, and then sorting within each group by number of articles – doesn't seem to be the most appropriate way to structure this content for a navbox. For one, it requires that the navbox entries be re-ordered every time there is a change in the ranking by article count (unlike List of Wikipedias, which I believe is self-updating). But more importantly, using the exact order of the ranking by article count doesn't serve a navigational function. If one is looking for a particular language, it would be a hassle to find it with the existing setup; readers aren't navigating from article to article with the knowledge that the Balinese Wikipedia is slightly larger than the Odia Wikipedia (which, as it happens, are very much out of order right now). And if someone is looking for the exact order, List of Wikipedias can serve that role much better than this navbox can (see Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigation templates).
I considered simply placing all of the entries in alphabetical order, but I recognize that it is possible that someone would be interested in navigating specifically between articles about all of the largest language editions (or smallest language editions). Accordingly, I have WP:BOLDly restructured the navbox so that there are only four groups: 1,000,000+ articles, 100,000–999,999 articles, 10,000–99,999 articles, and fewer than 10,000 articles. Within each group,
entries are arranged alphabetically.[a] This way, if someone wants to find all language editions of an approximate size (given that the difference between 10,000 and 20,000 articles means little to the casual reader), they can, and if someone is looking for a particular language, they just have to skim 4 alphabetized lists, not 12. This also has the side benefit of shortening the template a bit.[b] I'm hoping this will help make these articles easier to navigate between while also making this template much easier to maintain. Have returned the numbering system for six million and two million (better fulfills the intent of this navbox, which is by numbers. why stop at one million?). Randy Kryn (talk) 16:03, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20230226160300","author":"Randy Kryn","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Randy_Kryn-20230226160300-Graham11-20230118054600","replies":["c-Graham11-20240229052300-Randy_Kryn-20230226160300"]}}-->
The intent of this navbox is principally the facilitation of navigation between articles rather than providing detailed information (in contrast to List of Wikipedias). That being the case, I don't know that there is any reason to separate out just two links (Cebuano and English) on their own. Accordingly, I've removed the six million section, but I've left the two million section in place. Have reverted your good faith edits (just came upon the changes). Why mention numbers at all if the top number isn't highlighted? Navboxes provide much information just in their layout alone, and in this case the English Wikipedia and its accomplishment have common sense focus, especially since the navbox is for English Wikipedia.
