Talk:XMLSocket

Notability

Why does a single class in AS2/3 XMLSocket have its own WP article? Is it truly notable enough to deserve it? There are hundreds of Flash classes that are as important as this one. They don't have their own articles. What can this be merged with? -- Tom Jenkins (reply) 07:29, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly merge with Stream socket, or Adobe Flash Player since its a runtime feature. -- Tom Jenkins (reply) 08:18, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What about speedy delete? There never was a good reason for this article to exist. -- Nsda (talk) 08:56, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've marked it for deletion and added a note about sockets in the Adobe Flash Player article. The code samples are silly. -- Tom Jenkins (reply) 12:42, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, Tom, I should have known better: speedy deletions are handled according to purely formal criteria. Let's try a regular deletion. -- Nsda (talk) 15:32, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've replaced the contents of the article with a link to the Flash page on which similar content is available. -- Tom Jenkins (reply) 07:01, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
