Question on picture

The second para contradicts itself, both declines and grows ever since, has numbers to back a part decline and exceed the billion, which apparently was a blip we no longer reach, can someone check the refs, add a section 'alternative numbers' or such121.98.30.202 (talk) 08:34, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
