I just added the section on Stroke Order method, which is different from the original article. But since I found that the article on Chinese input methods for computers linked 笔画 to here, I thought it needed to be included.
Also, I find the article misleading, in that it makes it sound as if 笔画 is a very long and difficult way of entering characters, when that is not the case if the user understands chinese stroke order. It is more than simply typing in a number of strokes and then cycling through the results till you find the character you are looking for.
I was going to edit the article, but then I thought maybe the author's "stroke count method" might be different than 笔画. (the link to this article includes two sets of Chinese characters: 筆畫 and 笔画). It is possible the first and second are, the traditional version and simplified version of the same Chinese characters, respectively. If that is the case, then I will further edit the article.
If stroke order methode and stroke count method are indeed separate systems, then I will create a new article. Macenblu (talk) 05:01, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- I just learned from a friend in Hong Kong that 筆畫 and 笔画 are, in fact, the same thing. Macenblu (talk) 05:11, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Should this article be merged with Wubihua_method
Apart from the name used this article reproduces ideas and content found in Wubihua_method but is much smaller, therefore clearly this article should be merged. Johnkn63 (talk) 14:21, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Someone proposed merging the two separate pages on the 中文 wikipedia as well. (筆畫輸入法 五笔画输入法) See the zh-yue version of 筆劃輸入法. Geographyinitiative (talk) 07:27, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
