Drink is called "Soft!"
The soft drink in question is not called "Kwench" - it's called "Soft!" Toddhagopian (talk) 21:29, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Toddhagopian The article as it stands is correct: the drink being marketed is called Kwench! (with an exclamation mark). The exclamation mark in question is a feature of the advertising campaign for the drink that is described in the novel.
- What is incorrect, as can be seen from the cover image of the book reproduced here, is the use of an exclamation mark in the title of the novel - and therefore this Wikipedia article.
- The novel is titled Soft in English. What I hadn't known until just now was that Kwench! was used as the title of the German edition.

- The novel is called "Soft!" on Amazon in the U.S. The publisher's website uses the exclamation as well: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/authors/31011/rupert-thomson/
- Perhaps the drink is called "Kwench" in the German edition but it is definitely called "Soft!" in the English edition. Toddhagopian (talk) 21:50, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- The description of the novel on the publisher's website also calls the soft drink "Soft!" - https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/178445/soft-by-rupert-thomson/ Toddhagopian (talk) 21:51, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
