He's losing his British accent!
In the Bones series he generally has a British accent, but is now pronouncing some words as Americans do, that made me think he wasn't really British and that the accent was faked for the show.
I came to this site to verify that,

Ok, I just read this post and am shattered to see spoilers with NO WARNING.
