Talk:Ring flash

"Sources"

Whoever added the section 'sources' misunderstands what the term means on wikipedia. Its not for 'places to buy stuff' ie adverts.... --82.226.191.237 19:42, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Ring Flash Adapters"

It probably would be helpful to include a section on Ring Flash Adapters. They fall under the Ring Flash category but are different then traditional ring flashes. It uses the light emitted from a hot-shoe flash unit and bends the light around the lens via fiber optics.

Ring flash shadows

"It is considered to be a particularly good source of fill light because it does not create its own new set of shadows." Only partly true, all light sources have the ability to create shadows. A ring flash creates a shadow directly behind the subject, so incorrect usage (ie too strong fill) can create conflicting shadows with other off-axis lights, especially if the subject is close to a background and that background is poorly lit by the other lights. Extremely poor image

How does the photograph illustrate what a ring flash is, or what one looks like. Come on people use some common sense. Photography is about communication, the photograph does not illustrate what the item is.69.165.153.200 (talk) 21:07, 4 September 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.165.153.200 (talk)

If you're referring to the silly picture of the camera dangling from a tripod, I agree. Whoever posted that image could just as well have posted an image of a cigar box and claimed that there was a "ring flash" inside it. — QuicksilverT @ 21:58, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
