Talk:Operating system service management

Disambiguation

Since this page is really just a list of links to separate articles on management services, I am going to make it into a disambiguation page with appropriate links. If someone would like to expand this page, and feels that it does indeed warrant its own article, by all means, please do so. — Mipadi 17:20, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Missing

This is missing IBM's SRC, s6, perp, InitNG, daemontools, nosh, and others. Moreover, there's more to say on this than just a raw list of softwares. Some of the softwares fall into families; on some platforms there are similarities of approach amongst many such softwares (e.g. softwares on Unix and Linux operating systems employing the notion of forking children and then sending signals to control them); and indeed there are similarities of approach across platforms (e.g. the notion of running services under the aegides of unprivileged user accounts). dinit is also missing 186.122.181.169 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 22:05, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
