Talk:OLE DB

CAN WE USE OLEDB ALONE WITHOUT THE HELP OF ADO? iS THERE ONLY ONE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ADO AND OLEDB i.e.OLEDB ACCESS DATA STORE AND ADO ACESSES OLEDB?

OLE DB is a standalone access technology that is used by ADO. An application can use OLE DB directly, however ADO uses OLE DB to gain access to databases. ADO can therefore only access databases designed to work with MDAC. OLE DB, incidently, never uses ADO. See the MDAC diagram to see how it all fits together. - 203.134.166.99 08:38, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
