the golem, fiction
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker (2013, HarperCollins Publishers) is a wonderful book about a golem and should be added to the book list regarding golem. 72.76.133.254 (talk) 16:43, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
Two more works of fiction:
The Golem (Singer novel) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Golem The Golem is a novel written by Isaac Bashevis Singer that is a traditional telling of the golem of Prague from Jewish folklore. Astrid and Raphaëlle, TV Series 2019 Episode 2-6: Golem One of the associates of a high-tech company is assassinated. Golem in popular culture: Games
There are a lot of games Golem exists in like Terraria and Minecraft and you should add it like other popular culture. 176.59.164.169 (talk) 11:37, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- There's also golems in the diablo series. https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Golem 90.246.31.66 (talk) 09:53, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello there! Thanks for the input. This article is not meant to collect all appearances of golems in games (and other area), because that would lead to an indiscriminate collection of data and so violate the encyclopedic nature of Wikipedia. We do want to collect appearances discussed in reliable secondary sources, ideally with commentary. Fandom as usergenerated content without editorial oversight does not count in this regard. More details can be found at: Wikipedia:"In popular culture" content. If you should know fitting secondary sources for the games you've mentioned, it would be really helpful if you could post them here. Or just boldly add them yourselves. Golem in Toy Story
The Toy Story section should stay in the article. It is absolutely relevant, as the points i have made are strong enough to warrant its inclusion. Solkidsol (talk) 07:37, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Solkidsol! Thanks for bringing this to the talk page. The thing is, everything on Wikipedia needs to be verifyable through WP:Reliable sources. So if you say that the toys in Toy Story function like golems, this may be a perfectly fine and correct observation, but it only has a place on Wikipedia when there is a reliable secondary source which can be cited to back it up, otherwise it is excluded based on being WP:Original research. Additionally, we had some discussions here that we do not want to include all appearances of golems in fiction, but only those which have been commented on by secondary or WP:Tertiary sources. That limit is there in order to fulfill the requirements of the WP:INDISCIMINATE policy of Wikipedia, and the logic behind it is further explained in the MOS:IPC guideline which Nikkimaria has pointed you to. (A lot of policies, I know, but it's all meant to make Wikipedia a good encyclopedia...) So do you know of any such sources which would back up the inclusion of Toy Story here?
