Indeed. From the description of the BACEngine, it isn't even a database engine but an XMLised interface to any random SQL server. Even if it was a database engine, the place to describe its internal workings is not in the middle of a paragraph about database engines in general, but on its own page.
Definition
FYI, it's common in the industry for database engine to be used interchangeably with database server (especially for folks who have worked with/for IBM - see IBM DB2 for many examples).
