Adjustment of meaning
Is it not prudent to, instead of referring to the word cunt as “vulgar”, adhere to the actual meaning of the word to describe a part of a woman’s body? The word cunt used to be the correct medical terminology for female anatomy, until women’s bodies were transformed into something taboo and surrounded by so much stigma that we ourselves became unaware of our own biology. I feel as though referring to cunt as a vulgar word from the off is aiding in demonising sex and sexual desires, especially where women are concerned. Should we not be allowed to use cunt to describe a part of ourselves rather than the term vagina which etymologically means “sheath” as in, something that holds a sword? All to say, I believe that the definition of the word should be altered to provide the actual meaning of cunt instead of demeaning it as an insult or offensive terminology.
