The result of the move request was: moved. Policy is with the majority, with which we have a consensus (opposition appears to center on WP:DIFFCAPS being insufficient) which favor WP:DIFFCAPS and WP:DABNAME, which apply in this situation. The examples given, such as Friendly Fire do not give me reason to believe Best Man is particularly exceptional in this case. I agree that WP:DIFFCAPS can be unclear in some cases, but it doesn't appear to be here - the counter example of Cold war redirecting to Cold War applies as you can have the Cold War, which was a Cold war, but there is no similar interpretation of Best Man, as there has not (to my knowledge) been a Best Man popular enough to become universally recognizable as "the" Best Man. In the event readers wish to type Best Man into the search with those caps, they can find the dab page, otherwise they will be directed to Groomsman(closed by non-admin page mover) ASUKITE 13:37, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Best man (disambiguation) → Best Man – There are 15 entries listed upon the Best man (disambiguation) page and only one of those is rendered with a lowercase "M" while, among the remaining 14 entries, 11 are titled "The Best Man" and the proposed dab page main title header — Best Man — is a redlink. It may be also noted that the lowercase "best man" does not even have its own entry, but is a redirect to Groomsman#Best man and that Gore Vidal's The Best Man (play) and The Best Man (1964 film) received various awards. Users who may type the uppercase Best Man or The Best Man while searching for the lowercase best man or the redlinked the best man would find the Groomsman link at the top of the proposed-for-renaming Best Man dab page. • Move to The Best Man and redirect Best Man there. Since most of the entries at the dab page are "The Best Man" that should be the title of the disambiguation page, while also disambiguating "Best Man" there per WP:DABCOMBINE. • Oppose Per Necrothesp, Best Man is merely a capitalization of Best man, and should therefore direct to the same target (with the correct category shell of course). • Support per DABNAME and DIFFCAPS. I read DABNAME as preferring no the even when it is used in a majority of items, but not all items. I read DIFFCAPS (and Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Styling variants) as being clear here, especially with the examples given.
