understandable reaction to lack of hustle
It's an unwritten rule in baseball that you run out balls that you hit (and that advice comes as early as in Little League, right?). You don't know what's going to happen. In July 2013, Nick Swisher (a MAJOR leaguer, mind you) hit a slow roller along the line toward 3rd base and did not run it out, assuming it would stay foul. (The ball came back onto the line and the catcher, seeing that Swisher was not running, grabbed it -- it's a FAIR ball there -- and ran over to tag Swisher out. So there was a strange writeup: grounded out to catcher unassisted.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 17:24, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
