Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender (born 1985)
Ice hockey player
Joshua Tordjman (born January 11, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender . He played two games in the National Hockey League with the Phoenix Coyotes during the 2008–09 season . The rest of his career, which lasted from 2006 to 2013, was spent in the minor league and concluded with two seasons in Europe.
Biography
Tordjman, who is Jewish ,[ 1] was born in Montreal , Quebec . His parents came from Morocco .[citation needed ] As a youth, he played in the 1998 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from the Lakeshore area of Montreal .[ 2]
In 2009, Tordjman was selected to represent Canada in the World Jewish Hockey Championship in Metulla , Israel .[ 3]
Playing for the Phoenix Coyotes , Tordjman recorded 23 saves in his first NHL game, a 3–2 loss to the New York Islanders on March 8, 2008.[citation needed ] Tordjman won the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award in the 2009-10 AHL season , playing for the San Antonio Rampage .[ 4]
On June 14, 2011, Tordjman signed a one-year contract with European team, EC Red Bull Salzburg, of the Austrian Hockey League.[ 5] He played one season for Salzburg before joining Asiago Hockey 1935 in the Italian league for an additional season, retiring in 2013.
