TweetDeleter is an online tool designed to help users manage and delete their posts on X, formerly known as Twitter. Launched in 2011, the service offers features such as mass deletion[1], keyword-based search, automatic post removal, and archive uploading. As of 2024, TweetDeleter has processed over 1 billion posts for more than 1.5 million users across nearly 200 countries.
History
TweetDeleter was created during a 2011 Garage48 hackathon[2] by Latvian entrepreneur Jēkabs Endziņš. According to interviews, the idea stemmed from personal experience managing posts after social events.[3]
Initially launched as a freemium service with advertising support, the platform faced challenges in covering operational costs. It was later migrated to the servers of Weby, a Latvian software company co-founded by Endziņš and business partner Reinis Vaivars. Following a complete rebuild and the adoption of a subscription-based pricing model, the tool achieved profitability and began expanding its global user base.[4]
Labs of Latvia, a national tech and startup publication, has listed TweetDeleter among several Latvian-developed apps noted for their international reach and user adoption.[5]
Features
TweetDeleter offers users a variety of tools to manage their X (Twitter) history:
- Bulk deletion of tweets, replies, and retweets
- Search functionality by keyword, tweet type, date range, or media
- Swear word filtering
- Automatic deletion of tweets after a set period
- Auto-unlike feature for previously liked tweets
- Archive upload for users with more than 3,200 tweets
- Optional archive of deleted tweets for personal reference
- Support for Bluesky, including auto-posting and post deletion (add-on features).[6]
