Joshua Baille is a 20 year old British Youtuber who goes by the moniker of Speed Mcqueen. He started his channel in September 2018 but rose to fame only in July 2023 with the success of his short videos. Around June 2023 he expanded to TikTok, one of his most popular TikToks, “So how did you get to school,” amassed over 1 million views, cementing his online presence. This video also introduced the “Sideboys,” a commonly recurring group in his skits, further developing his comedic brand. Although being loved by many and amassing such a large following, viewers have noted their dislike of his frequent use of racial stereotypes. Some viewers label his humor as low-effort and inauthentic. As discussed in an earlier Z League article, "Is Speed McQueen British?[1] The Accent Controversy Explained.", the use of filters and a potentially exaggerated British accent has fueled this controversy.
