RailRestro is an Indian e-catering and food delivery service that provides meals to passengers travelling on Indian Railways. Founded in 2015 by Manish Chandra[1], the platform enables customers to order food online via its website, mobile application, or customer support helpline.[2][3] The service partners with restaurants across multiple cities and delivers meals directly to passengers at designated railway stations.[4][5]
History
RailRestro was launched in 2015[6] by entrepreneur Manish Chandra with the aim of improving food availability and quality for long-distance train travellers in India.[7] The platform initially partnered with a small number of restaurants in major cities but expanded rapidly with the growth of IRCTC's e-catering ecosystem.[8][9]
Over time, the service introduced pre-booking options, group orders, and a wider network of restaurant partners.[10] The company also developed its own mobile app to streamline ordering and delivery processes. By the late 2010s, RailRestro became one of the notable private players in the railway e-catering sector.[11]
The company is operated by Yescom India Softech Pvt Ltd and functions as an IRCTC-authorized e-catering partner.[12]
