Draft:Muilutus

Muilutus is a Finnish term describing a forced poilitical kidnapping and transportation of a person from one place to another. The term is associated with the Lapua movement (1929-1932), who used muilutus to instill fear into supporters of communism and left-wing ideals. People were generally transported to the eastern border between Finland and the Soviet Union, or across it, and demanded to relinquish their political ideals or told to never to return to Finland.

The term got its name from cousins Jaakko and Jussi Muilu. They were considered the most famous and active participants in these forced transportations.

The idea originated in the US, where political opponents were carried away to state borders.

The most famous cases of muilutus during 1930 were STVP members of parliament Asser Salo, Eino Pekkala and Jalmari Rötkö, and deputy speaker of the social democratic party Väinö Hakkila, and the former president of Finland, K. J. Ståhlberg, who server as president until 1925.

Muilutukset ovat tunnetuimmat vaikuttamiskeinot, joita Lapuan liike käytti. Lapualaiset pitivät Kallion hallitusta saamattomana, ja Vihtori Kosola halusi muilutuksilla painostaa hallitusta eroamaan sekä saada uudeksi pääministeriksi kokoomuksen Pehr Evind Svinhufvudin. Category:Kidnappings
