İti Qovan is an Azerbaijani strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), designed for reconnaissance and ground-attack missions. The system is intended to provide precision strike capability while operating remotely without an onboard pilot.
Development
The İti Qovan project was developed to enhance Azerbaijan’s domestic unmanned combat capabilities. The drone was designed with the intention of being a "Kamikaze" style loitering munition, much like the Israeli "Harop" Drone, allowing it to be adapted for different mission profiles such as surveillance, target acquisition, and strike operations. Details regarding its development timeline and testing phases have not been fully disclosed publicly.
Design
The İti Qovan features a lightweight airframe optimized for endurance and maneuverability. It can be equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors for day-night operations and secure data-link systems for real-time transmission to ground control stations.
Avionics and sensors
- Electro-optical / infrared (EO/IR) camera system
- Stabilized payload
- Encrypted communication and navigation systems
Armament
The drone is capable of carrying internal strike payloads, which vary depending on mission requirements.
