A green tea shot is an alcoholic beverage made of equal parts Irish whiskey (frequently Jameson), peach schnapps, and sour mix, sometimes topped off with soda water or Sprite).[1]. It is frequently consumed by bar goers as a "starter" due to its good flavor and smooth mouth feel. For an individual shot, about one half ounce of each ingredient is used. [2] Bars often make these in bulk before busy nights, especially if located in a college town.[3]

Some sources claim that it was invented by the Jameson Whiskey company as a marketing strategy[4], but there is no conclusive evidence for that.[5]
