Dactylaria is a genus of fungi belonging to an unknown family.[3] According to Wijayawardene et al. 2020; the genus was placed in order Helotiales genera incertae sedis.[4]

The genus was first described by Pier Andrea Saccardo in 1880,[5][2] and the type species is designated as Dactylaria purpurella.[1]

The genus has a scattered, cosmopolitan distribution.[3]
