Willem IJsbrantsz Bontekoe

Willem Ysbrandtszoon Bontekoe (2 Juni 1587 – 1657) adalah seorang pelaut Belanda yang menjabat sebagai kapten kapal di Perusahaan Hindia Timur Belanda (VOC) pada tahun 1618 hingga 1625. Bontekoe dikenal secara luas lewat buku hariannya yang menceritakan pengalaman pribadinya berlayar menuju Pulau Jawa.[1] Kisah tersebut kemudian diterbitkan menjadi sebuah buku pada tahun 1646. Tercatat hingga tahun 1800, buku tersebut sudah mengalami cetakan ulang sebanyak 60 edisi dan telah banyak yang membuatkan versi terjemahannya.[2]
