Veliger
Veliger adalah larva planktonik dari berbagai jenis siput laut dan siput air tawar, begitu juga bivalvia dan scaphopoda. Veliger dihasilkan setelah tahap perkembangan embrionik atau larva trokofor. Pada bivalvia, veligernya terkadang dirujuk sebagai tahap-D (permulaan perkembangan) atau pediveliger (pada akhir perkembangan) pada larva. Tahap ini mewakili wujud plankton, yang kemungkinan memudahkan penyebaran suatu organisme ke wilayah-wilayah baru, yang tidak bisa dijangkau oleh dewasa yang menghasilkan larva tersebut.[1]
