Spirochaetaceae adalah keluarga dari bakteri spiroket. Beberapa spesies dari famili ini diketahui merupakan penyebab penyakit sifilis, penyakit Lyme, demam bentan, dan penyakit berbahaya lainnya.[1]
Spirochaetaceae memiliki ukuran 30 - 500 mikron, dengan struktur protoplasma yang pasti. Anggota dari famili ini dapat ditemukan pada genangan air, air tawar, air asin atau di saluran usus bivalvia.[2]
