Providas Romanorum


Providas Romanorum adalah sebuah Konstitusi Apostolik yang diumumkan secara resmi oleh Paus Benediktus XIV pada tanggal 18 Mei 1751. Konstitusi ini mengutuk Freemasonry atas dasar paham naturalisme, persyaratan akan pengambilan sumpah, kerahasiaan, ketidak-pedulian terhadap agama, dan kemungkinan ancaman terhadap gereja dan negara. Dokumen ini menegaskan kembali konstitusi sebelumnya In eminenti apostolatus specula. Konstitusi ini secara khusus melarang umat Katolik Roma untuk mencoba menjadi anggota kelompok aliran Freemasonry manapun.[1]
