Planosol

Planosol merupakan jenis kelompok tanah mineral dengan ciri lapisan bawah dari akumulasi lempung,[1] biasanya terdapat di daerah dataran rendah basah dengan temperatur musim kering dan daerah subtropis. Planosol memiliki susunan horizon ABtgC, horison bagian atas ochrik atau umbrik, horison bagian bawahnya natrik argik, atau albik, dan horison permukaan berwarna terang. Jenis tanah ini terdapat pada permukaan yang keras di atas horison bawah dan permeabilitas lambat. Planosol memiliki macam-macam tanah yakni planosol distrik, planosol solodik, planosol humik, planosol molik, dan planosol eutrik.[2] Planosol memiliki kandungan tanah liat yang menyebabkan timbulnya genangan air musiman akibat nutrisi yang rendah.[1]

Persebaran

Persebaran planosol mencapai 130 juta hektar di beberapa negara seperti Amerika Latin yakni bagian selatan Paraguay, Argentina, dan Brasil, bagian selatan Asia seperti Thailand, Bangladesh, dan Australia, bagian timur dan selatan Afrika, serta bagian timur Amerika Serikat.[2]
