Picoides adalah genus burung pelatuk dalam famili Picidae yang berasal dari Eurasia dan Amerika Utara.

Genus Picoides ini dikenalkan seorang naturalis Prancis Bernard Germain de Lacépède pada tahun 1799.[1] Spesies tipe untuk genus ini ialah Picoides tridactylus yang ditetapkan oleh ahli hewan Inggris George Robert Gray in 1840.[2][3]
