Magneetrots adalah sebuah gunung di Distrik Sipaliwini, Suriname. Gunung ini memiliki tinggi 310 meter.[1]

Sejarah

Magneetrots serta Tebutop, Roseveltpiek, dan Kasikasima pertama kali dieksplorasi pada tahun 1904 selama ekspedisi Tapanahony.[2][3]

Pada tanggal 16 Agustus 1904, ekspedisi yang dipimpin oleh Alphons Franssen Herderschee [nl], melakukan upaya pertama yang gagal dalam mendaki gunung tersebut.[4] Pada 19 Agustus, mereka mencoba lagi. Gangguan magnetik diamati oleh beberapa anggota ekspedisi, dan oleh karena itu gunung tersebut dinamai Magneetrots (Inggris: batu magnet). Bagian pertama pendakian adalah lereng yang landai ke atas dengan banyak bebatuan yang menjorok ke dalam, tetapi di dekat puncak, terdapat dinding yang curam.[5]
