Kertup

Kertup adalah sajian kopi yang dikonsumsi atau dinikmati tanpa melalui proses seduhan, biji kopi yang sudah disangrai dikunyah dengan gula aren. Nama kertup berasal dari bunyi kemertup saat biji kopi ini dimakan dari sanalah nama kopi kertup diambil.[1] Hal ini dimulai pada saat masa perjuangan kemerdekaan. Kala itu para pejuang Gayo membuat cara lain untuk menikmati kopi. Pejuang Gayo akan membawa bekal kopi yang telah di sangrai beserta gula aren selama bergerilya di hutan sebagai bahan perbekalan, kopi dan gula aren ini terbilang tahan dalam waktu yang lama, sampai enam bulan.[2]
