Isokonazol adalah obat antijamur azola dan dapat menghambat bakteri gram-positif.[1][2] Untuk infeksi kaki dan vagina, isokonazol memiliki efektivitas yang sama dengan klotrimazol.[3][4] Isokonazol nitrat dapat digunakan dalam kombinasi dengan kortikosteroid diflukortolon untuk meningkatkan bioavailabilitasnya.[1] Obat ini dipatenkan pada tahun 1968 dan disetujui untuk penggunaan medis pada tahun 1979.[5]
