Cissa adalah genus yang terdiri atas kucica berekor pendek. Genus ini diperkenalkan oleh ahli ilmu hewan asal Jerman bernama Friedrich Boie pada tahun 1826. Cissa chinensis merupakan spesies tipe dalam genus ini.[1][2] Nama Cissa berasal dari kata berbahasa Yunani Kuno kissa yang berarti "jay" atau "kucica" (magpie).[3]
