Chaetodipus adalah sebuah genus tikus saku yang mencakup 17 spesies yang endemik ke Amerika Serikat dan Meksiko.[1] Seperti anggota-anggota lainnya pada famili mereka seperti tikus saku pada genus Perognathus, mereka lebih berkerabat dekat dengan tikus pipi-kantong daripada tikus sejati.
Ciri
Anggota-anggota dari genus ini memiliki ukuran yang berkisar antara 8 - 12.5 cm dan berat 15-47 gram (Nowak, 1999). Tidak seperti teperti tikus saku sutra (genus Perognathus), kebanyakan spesies pada genus ini memiliki rambut yang kasar. Mereka biasanya ditemukan di habitat-habitat kering, memakan biji-bijian, vegeasi dan serangga. Betina melahirkan 2-9 anakan setelah periode gestasi yang hanya berlangsung kurang dari sebulan. Rentang tertua yang tercatat dari genus ini adalah 8 tahun 4 bulan.
