Bixa adalah genus tipe dalam keluarga Bixaceae. Genus ini asli Meksiko, Amerika Tengah, Karibia, dan Amerika Selatan yang dinaturalisasi di tempat lain.[1][2][3][4] Spesies yang paling terkenalnya yaitu Kesumba keling (Bixa orellana).
